Inspiring the next generation of ocean stewards
At the heart of Kenya’s coastal beauty lies Kilifi, a region blessed with vibrant marine life especially its precious coral reefs. But these underwater ecosystems face growing threats from climate change, pollution, and overfishing. That’s why we’re taking action to empower the youngest members of the community to become guardians of the ocean.
We’re thrilled to introduce Project Reel education program, an innovative initiative by Oceans Alive Foundation in partnership with @coralguardian, bringing coral reef conservation straight to Kilifi’s schools!
Learning through film, fun, and discovery
Through five captivating film episodes, interactive presentations, and hands on activities, we’re making marine conservation exciting and accessible for students.
Our dedicated education officers don’t just screen the films they ignite curiosity, lead lively discussions, and encourage students to think critically about their role in protecting the ocean. And to ensure real impact, we conduct pre and post surveys, tracking how knowledge and attitudes evolve over time.
When children fall in love with the ocean, they grow up to protect it. By fostering a deep connection with marine life at an early age, we’re nurturing a generation that values sustainability and takes action to safeguard our seas.
Healthy coral reefs don’t just benefit marine species they support fisheries, tourism, and coastal protection, making them vital for both people and the planet.
